After serving this past year as President-Elect, SriniVas R. Sadda, MD, has formally stepped into his new role as President of the Macula Society.

The Macula Society, founded in 1977, is a forum for the presentation and dissemination of the most current and most advanced scientific information and research in retinal vascular and macular diseases. Membership applications are accepted only once a year, and members are selected via rigorous acceptance criteria, including extensive contribution to retinal literature. The Macula Society’s membership continues to grow, both in the US and internationally, though its founding principle of sharing scientific advances in a collegial atmosphere remains unchanged.

Over the coming year, Dr. Sadda will lead this organization and ensure its continued commitment to supporting scientific excellence. This is just one example of the continued influence and acclaim that Dr. Sadda continues to garner worldwide in the field of retinal research – in May he will also step into his role as president of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the largest and most respected eye and vision research organization in the world.
