Doheny in the Spotlight at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting
As one of the world’s foremost vision research institutions, Doheny Eye Institute was well represented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting, held May 5-9 in Seattle. Not only were Doheny scientists selected to present their latest research in more than 28 paper and poster presentations, but our own SriniVas Sadda, MD, was officially named president of ARVO at the conclusion of this year’s meeting. Recently, Doheny Eye Institute Chief Scientific Officer Deborah Ferrington, PhD, penned an article for Medika Life titled, “Research Drives AMD Treatments Toward Targeted Therapies.” The piece explores the urgent need to discover therapies that can effectively address age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and explores the work being undertaken by researchers to learn more about the disease, the challenges they face, and more.
