We identify gaps in care, and then collaborate with engineers on ideas for research, development and design for improved ophthalmologic treatment. Often, we are deeply involved from the earliest stages of device development and prototyping. We’ve worked closely with medical device imagineers for decades.
Doheny Eye Institute’s Alex Huang, MD / PhD, has received a prestigious Research to Prevent Blindness Career Development Grant (2015). His work at the frontiers of customized surgery for glaucoma patients is poised to change approaches to treatment internationally. Doheny Eye Institute’s Alex Huang, MD, PhD, is #1 on The Ophthalmologist magazine’s Power List 2017, a ranking of the most influential people in the field. This year’s rankings focused on the “rising stars” of ophthalmology. Young leaders in ophthalmology were nominated by colleagues, and an expert panel made the final selections to create the annual list.
