Deming Sun, MD, Awarded Endowed Research Chair
Doheny Eye Institute is proud to announce that Deming Sun, MD has been awarded the Mary D. Allen Endowed Chair in Vision Research. This prestigious faculty position is supported by the generous gift made to the Institute by Mrs. Allen in 1990.
“Being awarded the Allen Chair is quite an honor,” says Dr. Sun. “The chair will support critical research I am doing in the vision research laboratories at Doheny.”
Dr. Sun is a principal investigator at Doheny Eye Institute. His research has been supported by grants from the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health. His work explores the nature of inflammatory eye disorders like uveitis, dry eye and optic neuritis.
“Dr. Sun is an invaluable part of the Doheny team,” says SriniVas Sadda, MD, President and Chief Scientific Officer of Doheny Eye Institute. “We are proud to support his studies through his new appointment of the Allen Chair.”
