Los Angeles (June 30, 2022) – Doheny Eye Institute, a top-ranked nonprofit organization proudly affiliated with UCLA Stein Eye Institute and dedicated to furthering the conservation, improvement, and restoration of human eyesight since 1947, was pleased to have hosted the grand opening of its new headquarters in Pasadena on June 23, 2022. The event welcomed over 350 attendees from the community, elected officials and invited guests with speeches from Doheny CEO, Marissa Goldberg, UCLA Representatives and City of Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo welcoming Doheny Eye Institute to the community.

The new home for Doheny Eye Institute located at 150 North Orange Grove Boulevard is 123,200-square foot commercial property on 7-acres. Doheny Headquarters, formerly occupied by Avery Dennison, features 25,000 square feet of dedicated research space, Doheny Image Reading Center and Analysis Laboratory and a state-of-the-art conference center to enhance a culture of academic excellence within the ophthalmology community.

“Doheny, Stein, and UCLA have one of the nation’s best teams to do this work.” said Marissa Goldberg, Chief Executive Officer, Doheny Eye Institute. “Today, we celebrate this building’s promise for the next generation of researchers and clinician scientists.”

For 75 years, Doheny Eye Institute has been at the forefront of vision science. From seeking new ways to free blockages that prevent fluid drainage in glaucoma, to replacing retinal cells in age-related macular degeneration, to providing colleagues worldwide with standardized analyses of anatomical changes in the eyes of patients, Doheny clinician–scientists and researchers are changing how people see — and also how they think about the future of vision.
