Doheny Welcomed More Than 70 Generous Supporters for the Annual Planned Giving Luncheon

On June 6, more than 70 generous Doheny Eye Institute donors and friends visited our Pasadena campus for the annual Planned Giving Luncheon. Marissa Goldberg, CEO, opened the program with an update on Doheny’s research, and SriniVas Sadda, MD, Doheny’s Director of Artificial Intelligence & Imaging Research and Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, shared the latest advancements in AI and imaging and how they will impact the future of eye care. Guests also enjoyed a presentation from Sandip Bhagat, Chief Investment Officer at Whittier Trust. The event concluded with a guided tour of the Doheny campus.

Doheny Announces the Carolyn and Chuck Miller Chair in Vision Research

Doheny Eye Institute is honored to share that, through Carolyn Miller’s generosity, the Carolyn and Chuck Miller Endowed Chair for Vision Research has been established. Chuck Miller served as the Chairman and CEO of Avery Dennison for over two decades, where his vision of a corporate campus helped guide the original design of the Pasadena-based complex that Doheny now calls home. Later in life, he was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration — the leading cause of blindness in the elderly population.

Read more here about the tremendous legacy of the Millers and how their generous gift will further support Doheny’s mission.
