The Luminaires, a dedicated support group for the Doheny Eye Institute, hosted their “Timeless Elegance” annual benefit at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena on March 13. Under the leadership of Luminaires’ President Jinny Dalbeck and event chairs Jennifer Cooper and Peggy Schmid, the event was attended by 270 people and successfully raised vital funds to support groundbreaking vision research and patient care.
The Luminaires host the benefit luncheon each year and organizers say the event plays a key role in supporting the institute’s mission to improve treatments and develop new approaches to protecting vision.
The event paid tribute to the Lamp Society, honoring members who have supported the organization for 25 years or more. Following a Robert Ellis Boutique fashion show and a gourmet luncheon, the event culminated with the presentation of the prestigious Vision Award to Mary Catherine Cooper. This honor celebrated her quarter-century of effervescent spirit, extraordinary support and vibrant contributions to the community, Doheny Eye Institute and the Luminaires board.
