We Welcome Ali Mahdavi Fard, MD, to Doheny Eye Centers in Pasadena and Fountain Valley

 

We are delighted to welcome Ali Mahdavi Fard, MD, to Doheny Eye Center UCLA, where he will be seeing patients at both, Pasadena and Fountain Valley clinic locations. A board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in cornea and ocular surface disease, Dr. Mahdavi Fard brings more than two decades of international clinical and academic experience to his new role.

Dr. Mahdavi Fard completed his cornea fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute UCLA and previously served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Loma Linda University and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. His robust research background has produced over 30 peer-reviewed publications on topics including keratoconus, corneal cross-linking, ocular infections, and advanced intraocular lens techniques.

His current research focuses on applying artificial intelligence to improve intraocular lens calculations and studying how corneal disease affects visual function. His patients benefit from a personalized, evidence-based approach—particularly those in need of advanced care for corneal disorders, dry eye, cataracts, or complex anterior segment conditions.

A skilled educator and former medical director, Dr. Mahdavi Fard is committed to patient-centered care that integrates the latest scientific advancements with compassion and precision.

Dr. Mahdavi Fard is now accepting patients at Doheny Eye Center UCLA in both Pasadena and Fountain Valley.
