Our 2026 Doheny Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) January lecture was delivered by Connie Cepko, PhD, on Friday, January 9, 2026. Please refer to the lecture details below.
Bio:
Constance “Connie” Cepko, PhD, studies how the vertebrate retina develops and degenerates, especially probing the molecular and cellular mechanisms that direct cell fate, survival, and neural circuitry in the eye. In her recent, high-impact work, she has advanced gene-agnostic therapies for inherited retinal disease, for example, delivering the MCT2 transporter via viral vectors to retinal pigment epithelium to sustain cone survival in retinitis pigmentosa models.
